I am just curious why FSBO's always say the same things and use the same excuses all the time.  The most commonly used one is, I have time, time for what, to wait for the over all housing market to catch up with your price?  Time to wait for the totally inadequate marketing to finally bring the right buyer around for your home, by that time they know to offer you much less, time for what???  Have you not ever heard the old adage time is money, It really is.

Issues like these are common in the FSBO world; I get all kinds of excuses on a daily basis. Unfortunately for Realtors the desire to save money for sale by owners is as American as apple pie. Real estate commissions are the most common objection (just as you were talking about). Does this sound familiar "We need every cent for a new home, so we cannot afford to pay you the commission you are asking"?? Here are a few objection stoppers that may help in the future:

(1) "I'm sorry you're in that position, but a changing real estate market also gives you a better opportunity to purchase your new home at a good value."
(2) "If I accept a lower commission, I'll have fewer marketing dollars to promote your home...not a good plan when days on the market are longer now than in past years."

**I have tons more of objection stoppers so let me know if you need any more**
